Felipe Massa says that he is discussing with Lotus regarding swapping Kimi Raikkonen even as he has also had “contact” with McLaren.
Ferrari confirmed that last Wednesday, Raikkonen will “join Fernando Alonso in the driver line-up for the next two racing seasons”.
“We are negotiating, in my opinion the Lotus has a very competitive car, which is what I want. It is a team with a very important story in Brazil as well.” Felipe Massa told Globo Esporte.
“We are having many conversations to try find a way for not only me but also Lotus to continue with a good car. The Brazilian also spoken to as there has also been “contact” with McLaren.
“I have had contact with McLaren. I can’t judge… it’s hard to say… with Lotus the contact has been very good.”
After the Raikkonen’s Ferrari seat confirmation, Massa is starting to get used to the thought of life without Ferrari and insists hes “not ending” his career.
“I’m much more loose, more free,” he said. “I think this might be good for me. Of course I want a competitive car. It’s not impossible. It’s a change and I hope one for the better.”
