Bottas wins dramatic 2020 F1 opening race at Austria


Pole sitter Valtteri Bottas keeps his gateway to top on the podium on the dramatic season opener – Austrian Grand Prix. Only eleven out of twenty cars seen chequered flag during astonishing race in Red Bull ring.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc surprisingly made second place on the podium, who start from seventh on the grid – both Ferrari cars were struggled with pace-issue entire race weekend. The second Ferrari man Sebastian Vettel finished on the 10th place.

McLaren’s young speedy Lando Norris managed to finish his first F1 podium in Austrian GP, Lewis Hamilton’s five seconds penalty gifted him opening F1 podium, the champion was collided with Red Bull’s Alex Albon, when they fight for P2 during final stint of the race.

BOTTAS: “Lewis was really quick today but I managed to keep it together. No better way to start the season”

LECLERC: “It’s a huge surprise, but a good one. I think we did everything perfect today – we had a bit of luck, but it’s part of the race too. That was the goal, to take every opportunity”

NORRIS: “I’m speechless. There were a few points where I thought I’d fudged it up a bit… but I managed to get past Perez and end up on the podium! I’m so happy and so proud of the team”
